Myths About Root Canals – Part One: Are Root Canals Painful?
Welcome to our website! Since the thought of a root canal might make you fearful if you are not familiar with the procedure, we are kicking our blog off with the first of three posts that will address common myths about root canals:
Myth 1: Root canal treatment is painful.
Myth 2: Root canal treatment causes illness.
Myth 3: It’s better to pull a tooth than have root canal treatment.
Today we are addressing the first myth concerning pain with root canal treatment. Have you heard that root canals are painful, and are something to fear? Decades ago this may have been true, but with the modern technology and anesthetics that Dr. Cunningham uses in our office having a root canal done is no worse than having a simple cavity filled!
Pain from a severe toothache is often caused by damaged tissues inside the tooth. This is easily remedied when Dr. Cunningham removes the damaged tissue through root canal treatment. As an endodontist, Dr. Cunningham is an expert in pain management. We love that Dr. Cunningham performs pain-free root canals!
